At BACI, Community Inclusion Coordinators promote an environment in which people are enabled to pursue activities in the community based on individual interests, gifts, and defined goals.

This role supports people to become active members of the community through the supervision of staff and engagement with people supported and their network.

This position oversees multiple staff teams and programs.

Regular Full-Time Community Inclusion Coordinator Pod Facilitator


Location:
Burnaby


Salary:
$40.05 per hour


Hours:37.5 hours per week. Monday-Friday requires flexible schedule.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree or Community College Diploma in Human Services, Education, or other related field; an equivalent of education and experience may be considered.
  • First Aid, CPR, NCI certification, TB screening, immunizations including COVID Vaccinations. Valid Class 5 Driver's license and use of personal vehicle required.

Knowledge & Skills:


  • Two years recent supervisor experience in community inclusion or similar setting.
  • Experience and understanding of service design, impact evaluation and implementation of new service models and staff roles.
  • Iterative mindset and reflective practice. Comfort in trying new ways of working, navigating uncertainty, learning from experience, adapting, persistence and patience.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and initiative are essential. Ability to dialogue, plan and interact positively with people, their families, and staff. The ability to establish positive relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues, professionals external to the agency and community partners.
  • Ability to provide training, support and coaching to Pod Facilitators and Community Support Workers through their work providing quality support moving people forward in leading a good life. This applicant must possess a sound knowledge of the principles of personcentred thinking and planning and positive behavioural/communication supports, assetbased community development and supported/customized employment. Demonstrated ability to work with people with diverse and unique communication styles and backgrounds.
  • Ability to coach, inspire monitor, give recognition, provide ongoing feedback, and appraise staff performance. Ability to support staff wellness.
  • Good written and verbal communication including interviewing and performance management. Ability to develop and foster healthy team dynamics. Must have excellent computer skills to research, document, use online platforms and facilitate both in person and virtual communication and gatherings.
  • Organizational skills and time management are essential. Must be able to balance supporting teams in different locations through effective management strategies both in person and virtually.
  • Ability to support and direct multiple staff teams. Must be comfortable with ADP Workforce Now, Time and Attendance and able to process timecards. Ability to manage budgets. Good organizational skills required.
