1 ‐ Part Time (.5) ‐ Data Quality Specialist
Cardiac Cathlab & Recovery Room
Reporting to the Manager, Cardiac Cath Lab, under the guidance of the Data Quality Coordinator the Data Quality
Specialist is responsible for CV data team activities, utilization of specialized surgical databases (clinical) and report
generation, chart auditing processes to ensure data quality, communicating report outcomes with the data team and
improving elements of CV care and patient satisfaction.
Employment Requirements:
Education/Experience:
- Registered Nurse with current unencumbered registration, or the ability to become licensed with the College of
- Three years of health care experience working with all patient populations within the cardiovascular area of practice
- Experience or participation in quality improvement activities, knowledge of quality improvement theory and
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Collaborative approach to problem solving with a solution driven focus
- Previous utilization of various clinical databases for data entry and report generation/extraction
- Must be able to balance multiple demands and prioritize activities to meet simultaneous deadlines
- Self‐directed, with an ability to work independently as a member of the data team
- Detailed clinical knowledge of the Cardiovascular surgical patient population, including a broad knowledge of
Assets:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent with research related focus preferred
- Experience in data reporting is an asset/preferred
- General understanding of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre's information system environment is
Salary Range:
$43.546 to 51.230
