Description

We are looking for shipping/receiving labourers to work in our busy structural steel fabrication shop in Calgary Full-time permanent work, with lots of opportunities for overtime. If you're an early-riser and have experience as a shipper/receiver or material handler, we want to hear from you

DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Based on order specifications, picks and packages products for shipment. Coordinates carrier pickup; prepares packing slips, bills of lading and shipping labels.
  • Inspects incoming shipments to ensure accuracy; inspects for damaged goods. Unloads and receives parts, finished goods and returned goods.
  • Performs cycle counts and physical inventory counts.
  • Maintains forklift and other material handling devices in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintains files of receiving documents, material return slips and any WHMIS documents related to products or materials processed through the receiving area
  • Reports all nonconforming material to the department Supervisor.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess a minimum of one year of relevant work experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with using and driving a forklift an asset
  • Experienced with proper rigging and overhead crane use is an asset
  • Willing to work overtime as required
  • Possesses the ability to operate various hand tools and power tools.
  • Must be reliable and dependable (i

e:
punctual and ready to work).

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to take initiative, work independently as well as in a team.
  • Industrial construction experience is an asset.

OTHER DETAILS

  • Early morning start 05:00 AM
  • Must have CSA approved safety boots.
  • Forklift & Crane certification is an asset
  • WHMIS certification an asset
  • Must be able to lift up to 60lbs
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must have own transportation as location is not accessible with public transportation.
