This management position is accountable for leading and managing a team of skilled Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and IT Analysts whose work supports the success of Technology Services (TS) projects and operational initiatives.

This position supports the short
- and long-term goals of TS by supporting functions that manage the planning, implementation, and delivery of projects for Technology Services and Information Risk Management. Approximately 60% of this role is dedicated to managing Technology Services Project Managers, Project Coordinators and IT Analysts who provide project delivery services to a wide variety of TS projects and operational initiatives. Management of this team involves organizing, motivating, and developing team members so that customers' business needs are met, and delivery of projects and operational initiatives is effectively managed. At the same time, approximately 30% of this role is spent working as a senior Project Manager resource on large TS programs and projects, providing strategic partnership to the PM and the project team. An estimated 10% of this role is spent on planning and delivery, supporting the effective and efficient use of Technology Services resources and approving expenses aligned to the team budget. This role partners closely with the Director of Technology Projects, to uphold practice standards, guide work, and manage the development and performance of team members. In addition to extensive knowledge of Project Management best practices and methodology, this manager must have strong skills in Leadership and management Fiscal management Planning and execution Decision-making Organization and prioritization Communication and negotiation.


Description:

Directly manages 15-20 TS Sr.

Project Managers, Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and IT Analysts developing, directing, coaching, and mentoring these project and operational resources to support positive results for Technology Services, Information Risk Management and IT.

Supports the development and performance of Project Managers and Project Coordinators in TS by assessing skills, coaching to improve performance, and guiding learning and development plans.

Partners with Director Technology Projects to match resources with appropriate work assignments, develop individuals' skills and support high performance. Partners with OCM and BA managers and resources to ensure the effective and efficient utilization of project resources. Encourages and facilitates cooperation and results orientation. Fosters an environment of collaboration. Inspires motivates and guides team members. Promotes commitment, team spirit, pride, and trust. Represents team in meetings and champions the value of the services provided. Leads all human resource management activities within the team, including recruitment of new talent as required. Planning and Delivery Develop plans aligned to Technology Services Strategy and IM/IT Strategy.

Partners with Project Managers, Project Coordinators, OCM's, Director Technology Projects to ensure that project plans are executed and delivered on time and within budget.

Ensure resources are working to the full scope of their practices. Identifies and manages risks and opportunities and escalates to TS leadership as required. Builds and maintains mutually beneficial relationships with complex stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors-level university degree with a job-relevant specialty such as health, computer science, management, or communication. Equivalencies considered. Team leadership experience required.


Additional Required Qualifications:


At least five years of increasingly responsible experience working in health care or IT with experience in at least three of these areas: leadership, project management principles and methodologies and project governance.


Preferred Qualifications:

7 to 10+ years of project management experience in a large and complex IT environment. Management experience preferred. Equivalencies may be considered.
