Our Total Care Education provides services that can support international students to meet their Academic, Social, Emotional and Physical needs.

We are currently looking for a
Student Life Coordinator to join us in the delivery of our Total Care Education System


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Summary:


The Student Leadership Development Department is responsible for providing extracurricular and weekend programming for the students enrolled at Columbia International College.

The Student Life Coordinator is responsible for organizing all clubs, weekend trips, major school events, and programming for students who are under 16 years old.


Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Overall supervision and management of all extra-curricular clubs including budgeting, attendance tracking, and facilitation of the Club Fair.
  • Oversee, coach, and guide student run extracurricular clubs.
  • Coordinate, budget, and promote weekend trips. (Canada's Wonderland, Professional Sporting Events, Live Theatre etc.)
  • Create yearly and monthly trip/activity calendars.
  • Work alongside the Student Council to coordinate, budget, and promote major school events (Prom, Student Dances, and Spirit Week etc.)
  • Coordinate and facilitate the Activity Day during Orientation Week.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and track all schoolwide extracurricular programing for students under 16 years of age.
  • Coordinate and facilitate school wide assemblies (MADD Canada, Mental Health Awareness, Healthy Eating Education etc.)
  • Work alongside other Student Leadership Development Coordinators to facilitate leadership retreats.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the Morning Announcement team.
  • Assist the Student Leadership Development team in the delivery of various school wide events, Summer Camp and weekend trips.
  • Be available after hours for advice on unexpected trip logístical and busing issues

Specific Job Skills:


  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Experience in an administrative role.
  • Must be organized and have exceptional time management skills.
  • Experience with logistics and organizing of transportation.
  • Must be confident speaking in front of a group
  • People management skills.
  • Must be a selfstarter, decisive, assertive, and great team player.
  • Experience working with youth.
  • Strong problem solving skills and mediation skills.
  • Ability to be an effective member of interdepartmental team in a dynamic office.

Qualifications:


  • A background in facilitating and organizing programing for youth
  • Postsecondary education.
  • Experience with Microsoft suite of programs, including Excel
  • Intermediate experience required including database development, mail merges, etc.

  • Availability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
