The SchoolsPlus Facilitator shall be responsible for the implementation of a collaborative and integrated model of service delivery in an effort to identify and connect students and families to comprehensive services and supports.

The SchoolsPlus Facilitator works with the SchoolsPlus Leader to bring together multi-sector partners to develop and implement programs and initiatives to meet the needs of school communities; to coordinate services provided by multiple agencies and government departments for students and families at-risk; to supervise a team of Community Outreach Workers; and leading and championing positive ongoing communication with school administration, staff, and a broad range of government and community partners.

The SchoolsPlus Facilitator will monitor the progress of students served by the program.

Consistent with Halifax Regional Centre for Education and provincial policies, the SchoolsPlus Facilitator will work within an established accountability framework to ensure a high level of support and supervision is provided to the SchoolsPlus schools.

Working collaboratively with Principals and other staff, the Assistant Leader reports directly to the SchoolsPlus Leader.


Qualifications:

(a) A Masters Degree in Social Work preferred or equivalent such as a Bachelors Degree in Social Work with relevant experience;
(b) Eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers;
(c) Minimum of three (3) years' experience managing complex social work cases and facilitating interagency collaboration, preferably serving children and families;
(d) Experience supervising staff;
(e) Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle


Rate of Pay:

This is a 12-month per year position.

Currently this is a PEG (Professional Employees Group) position with an annual salary on the NCR 8 scale ranging from $66, , The annual salary for term positions less than a year is pro-rated over the length of the term.


Currently PEG Terms and Conditions of Employment apply, however, the SchoolsPlus Facilitator position will be migrated to the NSGEU bargaining unit in the future at which time, the NSGEU/HRCE Collective Agreement will be in effect.**
Hours of Work:Seven (7) hours per day (excluding lunch) totalling 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
