We are looking for a
Production Supervisor for 80 Progress (Preprint). The production Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing a high performing team of unionized workers to optimize safety, product quality and line
- efficiencies within Pre-print.

What you'll be doing:

Leading and supervising a team of unionized workers to optimize safety, product quality and productivity in the Corrugated Operations
Ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with OHS standards; that workers are protected from any hazards and such hazards are identified and controlled; and workers use the prescribed safety equipment
Maintain and enforce quality standards including good house keeping protocols.
Develop plans to ensure annual KPI objectives are achieved for safety, product quality, efficiencies and cost; providing direction and support to continuous improvement initiatives
Coach and performance manage workers with emphasis on frequent communication, feedback and promoting a high level of teamwork and engagement
Plan the effective and efficient scheduling of labour.
Provide expertise and direction in the determination of equipment, parts and materials needed and coordinating preventative maintenance needs
Foster strong relationships and communication with internal and externals departments and stakeholders
Coach and enforce specific safety rules and behaviors ensuring timely and accurate reporting of accidents / incidents and proactive prevention measures
Provide daily feedback to workers on performance and conduct performance reviews with direct reports
Facilitate crew meetings to ensure current safety, quality and production related issues are considered and resolved
Backup for the position is the Department Superintendent
Other duties as assigned

What you'll bring to the table:

Postsecondary education in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience

Printing experience highly recommended for this role
:

5 + years Supervisory or operations leadership experience within the Corrugated packaging sector is highly desired ; experience in a high volume manufacturing environment is a prerequisite
Strong communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills are essential
Ability to organize and prioritize essential tasks to achieve results
Able to work rotating shifts as per operational requirements
