We are currently looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our team of committed professionals. This full-time position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario's Durham location in Sudbury.

Under the leadership of the Finance Manager, the Accounting Assistant is responsible for supporting AR Clerk, Finance Manager and the Controller with preparing journal entries, accounts payables, account receivables, supporting the monthly closure and participating in the data entry process.

LOCATION:
Sudbury, ON


RATE OF PAY:
$40,000- $44,000 per year


HOURS: 40 per week

Major Responsibilities

  • Oversee Summer Jobs project,
  • Accounts receivable data entry; in addition, accounts payable if needed
  • Assist with financial audits
  • Participate in required meetings and provide input
  • Oversee accurate bank reconciliations
  • Daily cash outs recording
  • Assisting with Avocado clearing reconciliation
  • Ensure all administration filing systems are maintained
  • Data Entry
  • Provide administrative support for finance including the tracking and managing of insurance certificates
  • Other duties as assigned by the Association

Qualifications:


  • College diploma in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of one to two (12) years of accounting experience
  • Familiarity with Avocado and Certify is considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong understanding of computerized accounting, registration/billings administration
  • Current and satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
