Jewish Family and Child Service (JF&CS) is seeking a

Manager, Family Services - Hospice & Holocaust Survivor Services will be responsible for the development, management, support and leadership of Hospice and Holocaust Survivor Services social workers.
_This position is outside of the bargaining unit._

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Hospice and Holocaust Survivor Services social workers.
  • Oversee and approve worker caseloads and ensure workers have the tools and resources to effectively coordinate their cases.
  • Ensure social workers have the right capabilities and qualifications for the delivery of highquality services.
  • Oversee the ongoing development and maintenance of the Hospice and Holocaust Survivor Services programs.
  • Ensure that all service delivery is effective, efficient and leads to positive client outcomes.
  • Identify and actively participate in initiatives impacting hospice and holocaust services representing JF&CS, building capacity and presence within the community.
  • Take a leadership role in problemsolving situations pertaining to staff and client complaints.
  • Work collaboratively with Claims Conference and the Azrieli Foundation to ensure compliance to grants, fund and related reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with HPCO accreditation standards and take the service lead in Accreditation.
  • Ensure oversight of the waitlist and running of therapeutic groups for Bereavement.
  • Actively engage in program development to enhance service delivery for clients.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team in the development of departmental budgets, objectives and work plans and monitor, review and manage team budgets.
  • Establish, maintain and promote partnerships and networks with other agencies, community groups and stakeholders and participate in internal and external committees.
  • Ensure recruitment, performance evaluation, coaching, discipline, and termination where necessary are according to Human Resources policy and within the context of the collective agreement(s).
  • As a member of the Management Team, participate in Agencywide initiatives and activities related to development.
  • Represent the Agency's mission, vision, and values in the community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in a social science
  • Minimum 5 years directly related experience including management experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the delivery of Hospice services or related health care services
  • Strong program management, change management, leadership and clinical skills
  • Understanding of and commitment to a clientcentric approach, equity, diversity and inclusion
  • Understanding of issues of diversity, antioppression and antiracism and their impact on service delivery
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Comprehension of French or another language will be considered an asset
