Manufacturing Manager


Reporting to the CEO and CSO, the
Manufacturing Manager will lead the manufacturing of Class III and Class IV medical devices (Health Canada).

The production will range from preliminary test batches, to engineering runs, clinical trial batches, and technology transfer/scale-up operations.

The Manufacturing Manager will lead and coordinate all production activities through direct reports and hourly associates to achieve production goals across multiple production lines, while meeting all required safety, quality, and regulatory compliance commitments.


We are seeking a manufacturing and production leader who is career-driven, has strong mentoring skills, and a depth of experience in leading manufacturing production teams.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage process development engineering teams
  • Manage manufacturing engineering teams and technicians
  • Working with R&D, develop project specific manufacturing timelines and budgets
  • Working with quality team, help develop project specific manufacturing quality standards per ISO 1348
  • Collaborate with production planning and supply chain to receive necessary raw materials according to production schedules
  • Manage packaging and inventory process and teams
  • Develop and manage operations budget with business managers

Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or related field
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in medical device manufacturing
  • A depth of experience in manufacturing ranging from raw material processing through to final packaging and release testing.
  • Manufacturing experience with medical devices (Health Canada Class IV preferred)
  • Program/project management experience with a strong background in developing production timelines and schedules
  • A proven track record of accomplishment in developing subordinates including production supervisors, engineers and technicians
  • Experience managing skilled trades and contract employees
  • Demonstrate strong communications skills and analytical skills
  • A track record of accomplishment in working with medical device customers
  • PMP certification preferred
