    REACH (Regina Education and Action on Community Hunger) is an incorporated, charitable organization with the mission of supporting independence through accessible, affordable, and nutritious food options and programs in our community. We do this through several programs including The Good Food Box, The Family Basket, Frozen Meals, Mobile Stores, Cooking Classes, and grants to child nutrition programs.     REACH has recently completed several exciting activities to further the impact of the organization including a stakeholder engagement process, development of a new strategic framework, creation of new branding and new website, and generating a new fund development plan. REACH is committed to growing our programs, adding more diversity to our offerings, and increasing funding and donations. Currently REACH has a budget of $1.3 million and eight staff members.

    About the Board of Directors

    The Board sets our direction, is responsible for financial oversight and performance, and is accountable for achieving organizational objectives. Directors spend approximately 2-3 hours each month, from September to June, preparing for and participating in Board meetings. Committee work may also be needed throughout the year. Directors are elected to a one-year term, which is renewable.

    Specifically, we are seeking individuals with expertise in finance, fund development and human resources. REACH believes a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion is essential to the continued success of the organization and is seeking qualified candidates from Indigenous and newcomer communities so that the Board can be reflective of the community it serves. Candidates for the Board should also be passionate about food security and related issues facing people in Regina.

    All expressions of interest will be reviewed and selected candidates may be contacted for additional information and/or for an interview. The slate of final candidate will be presented to the membership at the AGM in June for election to the Board.
