Job Overview:


Reports to:
District Manager, Saskatchewan


Location:
Saskatoon, SK

Shift: 5 x 2, then 14x14

Relocation:
This position is eligible for relocation


Responsibilities:


  • Be available for continuous miner build, commissioning stage, and followup repair and service
  • Provide technical support for our product lines on customers' site; research and troubleshoot issues
  • Inspects/audits equipment for proper performance and determines faults and malfunctions
  • Adjust equipment & repair/replace defective parts components or systems according to scopes of work
  • Tests repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance
  • Completes accurate time records, technical service reports, failure reports, etc.
  • Stays current with industry, customer, product developments and technical best practices
  • Builds strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction
  • Interface current field issues with our Engineering group to assist, rectify and improve repetitive or critical issues
  • Coach customer maintenance personnel on equipment maintenance techniques and standards
  • Ensures customer follow up and satisfaction within area of primary responsibility
  • Complies with Joy Global and Customer safety policies/procedures and applicable regulatory, customer or industry requirements
  • Strives to find safer ways for customers to work with Joy Global products

Qualifications:


  • Electrical Journeyman certification, with strong mechanical and hydraulic experience will be an advantage
  • Able to participate in machine building and commissioning phases of new equipment
  • Understand operation and function of underground mining equipment, and be capable of accurately diagnosing problems.
  • Possess proven experience troubleshooting mining machines while working in an underground environment plus demonstrated electrical proficiency on high voltage electrical equipment
  • Experience in testing the repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Superior customer service skills and communication skills are required
  • Solid track record in dealing with customers in a technical role
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Adjust, repair or replace all defective equipment parts, components or systems at customer sites
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Willingness to work overtime when required
  • Must be able to work with mínimal supervision but also participate in the work of other mechanical and electrical journeymen and apprentices within the field environment
  • Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office suit (Word, Excel, Outlook)
