8 MONTH STUDENT/CO-OP CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

Under the direction of the Manager, the Technical Assistant, Water / Wastewater provides technical and labour duties to support the water/wastewater activities.

Job Requirements

Understanding of water wastewater properties and legislation, infrastructure design principles, and asset management of municipal infrastructures.
Ability to work independently with mínimal direction or as part of a team, and to respond appropriately to any situation which may rise.
Ability to operate light equipment including pickup truck, and become familiar with operating other equipment related to water/waste water used in the department.
Standard First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
Class "G" driver's license in good standing.
Good communication skills including ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public and staff.
Knowledge of and/or experience with the MTO traffic control regulations and devices and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
