- Support day-to-day oversight of the design of project(s) to ensure design and construction meet Waterfront Toronto's objectives for Design Excellence, Quality of Place, and the Corporation's Sustainability Framework.
- Support consultant and contractor procurement and apply lessons learned when completing procurement efforts.
- Administer contracts and agreements with project vendors and suppliers and continuously report on progress to plan using Waterfront Toronto dashboard reporting and other reports as required.
- Oversee the production of all project deliverables, including design drawings, construction documents, compliance with applicable standards and regulations and environmental approvals for assigned consultants.
- Review all planning and design documents and provide day-to-day support in the management of securing all necessary approvals from regulatory authorities such as the Toronto Building Department, ECS, City Water, Toronto Hydro, Enbridge, other utilities, Toronto City Council, the Ministry of the Environment, Transport Canada, Ports Toronto, Toronto Region and Conservation Authority, and others.
- Review project meeting minutes, project schedules, project reports and action items lists, monitor and follow up with all staff and consultants to ensure that tasks are completed by deadlines.
- Develop project budgets for approval by the Senior Vice President, Project Delivery and the Project Director, Waterfront Toronto's Senior Management team, the Board of Directors, and various tri-Government oversight committees, including the review or development of cost estimates and project schedules.
- Monitor and proactively manage project schedules and expenditures to ensure they are completed within specified timeframes and on budget and in conformance with government funding requirements.
- In cooperation with Waterfront Toronto procurement, assist in drafting content for Requests for Proposals for the retention of external consultants, contractors, and subcontractors, reviewing submissions and participating in hiring decisions, monitoring contract compliance and approving invoices for payment.
- Assist with the development of consultation and communication strategies that promote open, transparent discussions/communications between Waterfront Toronto, the consultant team, stakeholders and other business partners.
- Establish and maintain effective business relationships with consultants and contractors, stakeholders, government agencies and the public to foster positive partnerships and build consensus for proposed projects and/or to resolve critical issues.
- Collaborate with the Planning and Design team to support the creative direction for projects and identify critical issues related to constructability and cost.
- Oversee and provide direction to contractors during all phases of construction, including inspections, scheduling and managing progress meetings, negotiating contract changes, resolving material and design/workmanship standard issues, ensuring adherence to approved plans and specifications and compliance with provincial/federal legislation.
- In cooperation with Waterfront Toronto's Development team and other internal resources, support the approval process for development partners (e.g. Site Plan Approval and Building Permits, on-site signage, etc.) including mobilizing internal and external resources as applicable, with demonstrated expertise in subdivision agreements, municipal access agreements and handovers procedures.
- In partnership with Waterfront Toronto's Environmental Management team, develop or have a thorough understanding of construction dewatering means and methods and effluent treatment options.
- Manage large, complex engineering, landscape architecture and construction projects and/or oversee the management, monitoring and delivery of engineering and construction projects from the conceptual stage through planning, engineering, design, procurement, and construction phases.
- Significant demonstrated experience in the management of complex, multi-disciplinary design, construction and/or engineering projects.
- A minimum of seven years' professional experience is preferred.
- Experience in public realm and infrastructure service projects is preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of all aspects of contract law, construction and contract administration to effectively manage complex and high value projects.
- Knowledge of project related financial principles, practices and controls to develop and implement control and change control systems.
- Superior organization, coordination, delegation and project management skills to plan, manage and coordinate complex, concurrent projects, monitor project delivery, and provide guidance and expertise.
- Strong interpersonal and management skills to develop and support high performing teams and promote positive working relationships with regulatory authorities, Waterfront Toronto's internal resources, consultants, contractors and stakeholders.
- A post-secondary degree in Architecture, Project Management, Landscape Architecture, and/or Civil Engineering, or senior certified engineering technologist diploma, certification or accreditation, or equivalent in training and experience.

The Opportunity: Senior Project Manager, Project Delivery
Waterfront Toronto is seeking two Senior Project Managers, Project Delivery to provide leadership and direction on design and construction projects across the Waterfront precincts. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality project design and documentation within established timelines and budgets, ensuring that construction activities adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements, and maintaining strong governance through effective controls, systems, and reporting in collaboration with the Project Director and internal teams.
*Please note this is not an IT role.

Salary: $108,123 – $125,000 annual base salary. This role is eligible for variable compensation up to 15% of base salary.
