General Labour / Crating and Skidding

Responsibilities:


  • Complies with all Descon health and safety policies and practices, wearing appropriate PPE when required.
  • Is the primary contact for packaging, crating and skidding conveyor systems.
  • Moves items around the shop as required sometimes exceeding 50lbs in weight.
  • Assembles skids and assists company assemblers with skidding various items in the shop.
  • Sweeps floors and keeps the shop free of clutter where possible.
  • Takes out garbage when required.
  • Assists assemblers with retrieving parts from inventory.
  • Operate various hand tools, power tools, and equipment including:
  • table saw, drills, and other tools used for measuring, cutting, fastening, and drilling.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience Operating basic hand tools.
- previous shop experience would be considered an asset

  • Ability to read both imperial and metric
  • Must be able to lift over 50lbs.
  • Certified Forklift operator would be considered an asset
