Carte has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Human Resource Coordinator to join and support the Human Resources team on a full-time basis.

The HR Coordinator is client-focused and resourceful with the proven ability to multi-task while demonstrating a strong sense of urgency.

They use creativity, attention to detail and professionalism to bring ideas to improve administrative processes and efficiency to the team.

To be successful as a Human Resources Coordinator with Carte International, you will need:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative role.
  • CPHR in progress considered an asset.
  • Positive attitude, and approachable with a friendly, selfconfident nature.
  • High level of confidentiality and discretion is required.
  • Superior listening and interpretative skills.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of employee relations, Federal and Provincial legislation.
  • Experience in a unionized environment and interpretation of Collective Agreement an asset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities ensuring all deadlines are met accordingly.
  • Strong problem solving and judgment skills and attention to detail.
  • Results focused with ability to work independently and productively under time pressures.
  • A high level of selfmotivation and initiative, along with the desire to continually improve.
Reporting to the HR Manager, some essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • develop postings; shortlist and pre-screen; schedule / conduct interviews; complete reference checks; prepare / issue offer letters and decline letters; manage new hire documentation, etc.
  • Compiles new hire packets and conducts new hire orientations, onboarding.
  • Assist in clerical tasks related to various Human Resources functions such as recruitment, as well as general administrative tasks.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation and updates of employee handbook.
  • Provide recruitment support for managers by assisting in creating job postings, interview questions, reference checks and job offers.
  • Create new hire employee letters, packages, and managing the orientation and onboarding process.
  • Assists the HR team in administering the performance evaluation process.
  • Monitor and track performance review dates, prepare and provide managers with required documentation. Distribute hourly reviews and ensure any changes are implemented.
  • Participate in the development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing organizational requirements.

Wellness initiative, reward and recognition, compensation, etc.).

  • Recommend new ideas, approaches and procedures to enhance the efficiency and value of the HR department.
  • Provide reports for time and attendance; assist the Line Managers with absenteeism issues.
  • Assist the HR Manager in advising managers on legal compliance issues including Employment Standards Act, Workers Compensation Act and Human Rights Code legislation.
