ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

_ A bit about the role _
The Assistant Controller at Solink is a position that is both challenging and rewarding. We are searching for a charismatic person who has strong analytical, technology, communication and organizational skills. In this role, you will support the Controller by examining and analyzing the accounting records of Solink.

You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy in data and reporting, and assist with month-end and year-end processes, among other duties.

WHO YOU ARE:

You have a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
You have a CPA/CA or CMA designation.
You have 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting and auditing, preferably in a big four firm.
You have demonstrated expertise in accounting principles, financial standards (GAAP or IFRS), and audit best practices.
You have excellent analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and levels of the organization.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic environment.
Familiarity with financial software and systems, and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite & Google Suite.
You have strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
You have a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
You have a strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

_ Bonus if _

You have experience using NetSuite.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

Be a Canadian Citizen (dual citizens included), or eligible to work in Canada;
Be willing to comply with Solink's own security policies and standards.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to enhance financial integrity and compliance.
Conduct thorough contract reviews to ensure financial and operational terms are accurately reflected in our financial reporting.
Support the development and documentation of risk management strategies and internal control frameworks.
Collaborate with various departments to streamline and support the monthly financial close process.
Play a significant role in the integration of key operating systems, ensuring seamless financial data flow and reporting accuracy.
Assist in preparing the company for IPO readiness, including financial reporting, compliance checks, and documentation.
Provide guidance and support on financial reporting and compliance matters to team members.
Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure company compliance (like researching accounting issues for compliance with IFRS).
Providing monthly, quarterly and yearend analyses.
Coordinating with and preparing reports for CFO and upper management.
Assisting with preparations for audits.
Utilizing accounting IT systems to facilitate processes and maintain records.
Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
