About the role
We're looking for an Underwriting Assistant to join our growing team

As an Underwriting Assistant in our Personal Lines department, your work will have a big impact within our underwriting distribution department.

People will count on you to deliver Intact's legendary service by analyzing, selecting and processing risks in personal insurance to contribute to a profitable portfolio of business.

This is one year contract/secondment position located in Vancouver or Victoria BC.

What you'll do here:

Process insurance policy renewals, endorsements and cancellations
Review account information, communicate changes with accounts, confirm policy information, discuss coverages, options and payment plans
Review select underwriting reports and establish required action based on authority level
Answer inquiries from brokers promptly and courteously

What you bring to the table:

Minimum of one (1) year office related experience
Post Secondary education is an asset
Working towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset
Legendary customer service and relationship building skills
Adaptable and flexible with the ability to prioritise work
Proficient data entry skills and strong attention to detail
Exemplary written and verbal communication
Computer proficient with the ability to navigate through multiple systems
