Technical Data Specialist for our

Dartmouth, NS office.

The

Technical Data Specialist will provide support to Fleetway's Integrated Data Environment (IDE) teams in the control of integrated technical data documents, technical data requirements, and technical data elements. They will be responsible to assist in the production of Technical Publications from a common source database using S1000D to produce an Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM). The

Technical Data Specialist will have responsibility for coordinating technical publication activities in a Common Source Database ( CSDB).

The

Technical Data Specialist work in our Technical Publications Department and report to the manager of that department. We are looking for an individual that takes initiative, is bright, energetic, pays attention to details and is adept in setting priorities. This person must also enjoy working as a team but is also comfortable working alone.


Key Responsibilities & Outcomes:


  • Manage data requirements for technical publications utilizing established standards
  • Manage Technical Data Packages and Technical Data Elements
  • Produce technical publications using a Common Source Database (CSDB)
  • Partake in the business operations and management of the content in the CSDB.
  • Review and Analyze S1000D data modules against Specific Business rules
  • Integration of the Common Source Database (CSDB) solution with the Logistic Support Analysis Record (LSAR), Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Training System, as part of the overall Integrated Data Environment (IDE)
  • Establish and implement businessrules to ensure dataintegrity between the IDE, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) databases and CSDB.

Skills, Capabilities, and Experience:


  • Education Required:
  • Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering Technology, Business or Related Field
  • Years of Experience Required:
  • 25 years' experience in a Technical Publications Environment
  • Knowledge of S1000D Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) publishing standard would be considered an asset.
  • Experience working with Canadian Forces Technical Manuals (CFTOs), military and commercial standards for IETMs, ILS, Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), Training, and Maintenance Management considered an asset
  • Experience with computer techniques and models for analysis, simulation or information systems and documentation

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance
