We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative individual to join our Health & Wellness Team Directly in line with our Town of Innisfil's Strategic Plan 2030, you will take a "Community First" approach to developing and implementing initiatives aimed at engaging youth as part of a project to build and sustain healthy and safe communities.

Under the direction of the Health and Wellness Leader and working closely with the Sport and Recreation Team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with local organizations, and coordinating and facilitating new and expanding existing Town youth initiatives, as well as:

  • Coordinating onsite service availability for youth during programs and conducting outreach in the community to increase youth participation and engagement.
  • Enabling youth to gather and connect, have healthy relationships, be resilient, and develop life skills through the Town initiatives you develop and facilitate.
  • Monitoring youth and their behaviour in program spaces and during program activities; creating space for positive relationships, predictable structures, and setting clear expectations for youth.
  • Collaborating on the coordination of the expansion of current Mobile Youth Centre (MYC) programming and coaching and mentoring MYC staff as needed.
  • Recommending strategic goals and objectives for youth services consistent with the strategies of the department and the corporation.
  • Supporting the coordination of group initiatives, such as workshops, to support youth skill development; planning and organizing high quality, safe and stimulating programs for all levels of participants.


  • Job Requirements

  • A post
- secondary diploma or degree with emphasis on child and youth worker and development, recreation, social work, and/or social services or a related field.

  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience developing, implementing, and evaluating community focused interventions. Experience in a communitybased setting is preferred.
  • Standard First AID, CPR Level C and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is required.
  • Experience working with diverse youth, strong facilitation skills and the ability to make sound decisions and resolve conflicts in a community setting.
  • Knowledge of ActiveNet is an asset.
  • A valid Class "G" driver's license and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks.
  • This position will require a flexible schedule requiring regular evening and occasional weekend work.
