Description

Overview:
Responsible for the efficient and timely production of baked goods for use on campus.


This position is contingent upon funding.

Responsibilities:


  • Preparing doughs for various items using a weigh scale and ingredient formula sheets
  • Mixing doughs in automatic mixers
  • Prepare pie fillings as required
  • Baking goods in the rotary oven
  • Finishing goods such as icing cakes and pastries
  • Deciding on the best sequence of items for production
  • Training other employees in the preparation of items using specific procedures to achieve the best resulting product
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time

Qualifications:

  • Must be Red Seal certified
  • Three years' experience in a high volume institutional bakery and experience in the quality production of baked goods such as pies, rolls, cakes, donuts, cookies, French and Danish pastries
  • A sound knowledge of the safe operation of related production equipment is essential and finishing and decoration experience is required
  • Must be able to direct the work of others when required and train new employees when necessary
  • Must have a flexible schedule to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends
