WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Set up and take down of meetings and events, including cleanup and preparation of food for lunch, snacks, dinners, etc.
  • Maintain shared printer in the Health Wing including ordering paper and toner in a timely manner.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support for routine office tasks;
  • Assist in resolving any administrative problems;
  • Shop, prepare and maintain healthy snack inventory such as fruits, vegetables.
  • Cleans fridge out weekly and restocks when needed.
  • Maintain Health "G" drive including updated forms and brochures for Health Department
  • Shopping for supplies as needed/directed
  • Provide backup to other staff members when and where needed, including Community Health Representatives wherein you have to be able to fill in for Mammography clinics, optometry clinics and other health related clinics. This may include signing clients in, taking their paperwork, photocopying, etc.
  • Respond to client queries on answer calls from customers regarding their inquiries;
  • Assist clients to identify available resources and alternative means of support;
  • Provide excellent customer service;
  • Assist in completing program forms promptly and professionally;
  • Maintain professional and accurate client service records;
  • Maintain an up to date filing system;
  • Booking rooms, planning meetings, arranging catering, and other event planning duties;
  • Printing, copying, scanning and sorting meeting packages as required; and,
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your Supervisor, Manager, Director, or the ED

WHAT YOU BRING

Education

  • 3+ years' experience working in an administrative assistant position or office setting.
  • Completion of a one
- or two-year college or other program for administrative assistants or secretaries is considered an asset

  • Participate in community activities and functions as required by SIB and Chief and Council, including but not limited to Seabird Island Festival, and the Seabird Island Open House.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to an Oath of Confidentiality agreement, Seabird Island Band Policies and Procedures
  • Knowledge, respect, and understanding of Stó: lō culture, history, traditions, and language is considered an asset
  • Experience working with First Nations community is considered an asset
  • Valid BC Driver's License, Class 5 & clean Driver's Abstract
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
  • CRRP
