AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:


Reporting to the Manager, Entrepreneurial Services, you will lead in the development, design and execution of all Brampton Entrepreneur Centre social networking and website channels to cultivate and engage our online community, generate new business investments and promote job creation through targeted marketing strategies.


You will leverage your strong written communication skills to support local businesses by offering ideas in developing stories through effective research and client relations.

You will lead the development of social media content, and have the opportunity to hone your skills in content curation through the development of a content calendar.

As a team player with excellent attention to detail, you will thrive in supporting our successful monthly newsletters.

  • Markets Brampton as a location for business by developing "good news" stories surrounding existing small businesses and clients of the Entrepreneur Centre
  • Leads in the development and execution of all social content and campaigns to increase brand awareness, engagement and traffic. Develops social media strategy, leads the execution, and evaluates results.
  • Leads content development for key marketing materials: website, collateral and displays, public engagement materials and newsletter
  • Collects, monitors, and analyzes data from all social media marketing initiatives, providing recommendations to improve content and online presence
  • Develops and implements guidelines related to social media activity and provides training to Entrepreneur Centre team members
  • Maintains current knowledge of small business issues in Brampton
  • Provides research and recommendations for improving the effectiveness of the website, and Brampton's Entrepreneur Centre communications and marketing efforts.
  • Recommends initiatives to increase external enewsletter subscription base and implement as directed
  • Ensures effective use of resources and expense management. Provides recommendation on effective marketing initiatives and associated costs for annual budgeting process
  • Other duties as assigned.

SELECTION CRITERIA:


EDUCATION:


  • High school (Grade 12) graduation plus working towards an Undergraduate Degree and/or Post-Graduate Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or post graduate certificate in related field (or equivalent experience).

OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS:


  • Strong writing and proofreading skills
  • Exceptional understanding of English language standards and grammar
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects at once
  • Exhibit a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Superior organizational and time management skills
  • Has a strong understanding of digital media platforms
  • Be selfmotivated and capable of working in a team environment and independently
