  • Job Purpose: The Purchaser is responsible for sourcing and purchasing highquality meat and deli products from both domestic and international suppliers, with a focus on importing products from Italy. They ensure timely delivery of goods, negotiate favorable terms, and manage vendor relationships to drive cost savings and increase profitability for the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Sourcing and purchasing of meat and deli products from both domestic and international suppliers, with a focus on importing from Italy
  • Negotiating favorable terms with suppliers and vendors
  • Monitoring market trends to identify new and improved product options
  • Maintaining accurate records of all purchases and ensuring timely delivery of goods
  • Ensuring all purchased products are of high quality and meet the company's standards
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and vendors
  • Monitoring stock levels and proactively managing inventory to prevent shortages
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure efficient operations and customer satisfaction
  • Staying uptodate with industry trends, regulations, and import/export laws
  • Managing and tracking supplier performance, including resolution of any issues
  • Overseeing the import process, including logistics, customs, and documentation
  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing and procurement in the food industry, with experience in importing goods from overseas
  • Strong negotiating skills and vendor management experience
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and industry trends
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to work well in a fastpaced environment and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with import/export laws and regulations

Salary:
$45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
