    Position Summary...

    The Project Manager, Technology & Strategic Initiatives will lead the development and implementation of technology projects and initiatives throughout the Walmart Connect (WMC) organization. This individual is responsible for managing a small team of internal resources and third party partners to design, develop and deploy, solutions across the business unit to help drive operational efficiency and quality targets. This includes identifying areas for process improvement and developing and implementing strategic plans to drive business growth through technology and automation.

    The Project Manager is also accountable for ensuring effective support and service is delivered to WMC stakeholders by the various technology providers, to ensure key performance indicators are achieved and maintained. The individual will be a strategic enabler by leading a variety of initiatives to support business and functional planning, resolution of escalations (informal and formal), and system & technology support to achieve stakeholder Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and deliver a differentiated client experience.

    What you'll do...

    • 1. Develops project / release plans and timelines, monitors execution progress and drives resolution to possible scope / time trade-offs. Provides project-related support to project teams by developing project resource plans; determining business readiness for project implementation; managing individual project scope items or activities as part of larger scale projects; managing project budget; and partnering with project managers to ensure successful delivery of projects. 2. Manages multiple, medium complex WMC projects (for example, software development, system integrations, Business Process Re-engineering) with external stakeholders (for example, third-party vendors, Store Operations, Corporate Marketing) by driving projects through the lifecycle phases to successful completion as defined in project's charter; serving as the project team lead; managing project budget; developing and maintaining a project schedule to track milestones; developing and executing plans for managing risk; providing updates and communicating needed changes to project budget; escalating project-related issues to management according to project guidelines; providing project status reports to stakeholders and management; managing project change control processes; and interpreting data to help guide teams towards issue resolution and risk management. 3. Lead senior level team meetings or business discussions to contribute to strategies on new products/areas/services/ improve organizational efficiency, and project delivery. Manages development teams, consultants and third-party vendors (for example, software vendors, hardware vendors, photo vendors, content providers, system integrators) by coordinating internal and vendor schedules; integrating teams and vendors into project strategy; communicating project status; ensuring delivery of proper functionality; and managing communications from vendors to internal stakeholders. 4. Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in Project Management and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. 5. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. 6. Develops metrics, evaluates activities and reports on the progress and outcomes of projects and initiatives. Benchmark best practices and leverage knowledge across the business to develop innovative solutions to gain competitive advantage. 7. Ability to work on issues independently - from diagnosis to resolution and update on issue & resolution to stakeholders 8. Makes recommendations and suggests ongoing improvement opportunities. Proactively take-on/engage in assignments outside of immediate responsibilities.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field and 6-8 years' experience in project management or related field
    • Ability to manage medium to high complexity projects in an agile environment
    • Knowledge of and passion for technology, including first-hand experience implementing a tech-enabled solution to solve an operational problem
    • Experience implementing or using Business Management systems, Workflow Management Systems, Sales Lead Management Systems, CRM Systems
    • Superior interpersonal skills including the ability to interact using tact and diplomacy while engaging with a wide range of internal and external contacts
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills including strong facilitation and presentation
