Description

Hold a Bachelor degree from a Canadian university or an equivalent degree, or

• Are a graduate of a College of Applied Arts and Technology or equivalent, or
• Are a graduate of a registered PCC or equivalent, or
• Hold a Certificate of Qualification under the Trades Qualifications and Apprenticeship Act or the Apprenticeship Certification Act or equivalent,

AND

• Have 24 months occupational experience in the vocation to be taught

OR

• Have 36 months of teaching experience in the Culinary Arts,
  AND
• 24 months occupational experience in the vocation to be taught

OR

• Have 48 months of occupational experience in the Culinary Arts

Better to have the following skills or knowledge:

• Professional certifications from recognized culinary organizations (for example, Culinary Federation)
• 23 years of handson experience in the culinary industry, including work in various kitchen settings such as restaurants, hotels, catering, or other culinary establishments
• Indepth knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, nutrition, and menu planning.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance to students in a positive and supportive manner
• Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and abilities
• Keeping up to date with industry trends and incorporating relevant advancements into the curriculum
• Ability to manage a culinary classroom or kitchen effectively, including organizing practical sessions, managing resources, and ensuring a safe and productive learning environment
• A commitment to ongoing professional development through attending workshops, conferences, and staying informed about industry trends and best practices

Job Types:

Salary:
$30.00-$40.00 per hour
