Under general direction, designs and implements network communications and solution improvements. Proposes system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.

Assists in managing the load configuration of a central data communication processor and makes recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks.

Coordinates terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, upgrading, monitoring, testing and servicing. Approves action requests and specifies purchase requirement. Negotiates and places orders with common carriers. Role typically requires between 5 and 8 years of experience.

Primary responsibilities and/or essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversight and management of assigned IT purchasing which includes the ordering of related hardware and software.

  • Tracks and reports on the location, description and associated user information for software and hardware technology assets in addition to ownership and utilization.

  • Ensures that software and hardware assets are tracked appropriately and that they can be reconciled.

  • Assists in the receiving, asset tagging, storing, tracking and deployment of IT equipment.

  • Conducts audits to ensure that IT assets are accurately captured and assigned within the asset tracking system.

  • Ensures maintenance, support terms and service levels are being met by our suppliers, and where they are not, assists in seeking equitable resolution. Creates processes for regular review of hardware and software purchasing to validate agreements for cost effectiveness.
  • Participates in and actively supports Quality projects, activities, and Responsible Care initiatives to ensure that the Company achieves its goals.
  • Other related duties as assigned
