Maintenance Operator - Power Engineer ( Permanent Full-Time )

Reporting To - Maintenance Superintendent

Core Purpose of the Job - Perform maintenance and repairs on HVAC and other specified mechanical and electrical equipment. The task will include but not limited to start-up/shut down of major building equipment. You will perform regular maintenance activities and perform minor repairs including replace washers/faucets/sinks; clear toilets and drains; replace lamps; reset breakers; and perform shift tours and log readings. In this role, you will install, maintain and repair existing fixtures and components and provide advice on installations and fixture upgrades.

Scope of Duties & Responsibilities -

• Assists in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) program. Ensures that deficiencies are identified, recorded, and escalated, and that related documents are maintained.
• Maintain and operate physical plant equipment used in lighting, heating, ventilating and air conditioning of buildings.
• Undertake unsupervised routine maintenance and minor work on a wide range of building fabric and mechanical electrical works.
• Monitors facility by conducting facility walkthroughs for mechanical, electrical, and other equipment system monitoring and inspection.
• Start up and shut down power plant equipment
• Responds to emergency, routine, and on-demand service requests.
• Maintain a daily log of operation, maintenance, and safety activities, and draft reports on plant operation.
• To work overtime when required either as extended day, weekend, or statutory holiday.
• Participation in the emergency on call when suitably trained and experienced.
• To carry any other duties that are requested by your manager.

• Ensure the satisfactory, prompt, and accurate completion of any associated paperwork as required by the company.

• To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans.
• To support the Company's Quality Policy Statement and actively participate in the achievement of Company and personal Quality objectives.
• To undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may be required within the Department /Service.

Essential Attributes -

• Power Engineer Class 5
• Knowledge of Building Maintenance Systems (BMS) and HVAC systems.
• Minimum 2 years experience providing preventive and corrective maintenance building systems
• Must strictly adhere to Health and Safety policies including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency
• Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs as they arise
• The ability to work as part of a team
