Accounting Supervisor

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Group Controller, key responsibilities will be to coordinate and supervise Accounts Receivable and General Ledger work, for the production of various financial statements and to ensure accuracy of all financial transactions.

Responsible for directing an accounting staff and ensuring Global Operating System (GOS), and Accounting Policy requirements are achieved. Under general direction, provide monthly and yearly comparative financial information to management for planning and to foster continuous improvement.

Performance Expectations:

Provide Accounting leadership and direction to ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
Ensure month end activities are completed in a timely manner.
Coordinate and participate in the preparation of regular forecasts.
Maintain information systems to measure financial and operational results.
Work closely with management in directing and controlling resources.
Identify and maintain internal control processes including monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
Ensure that statutory financial obligations including audit, tax and other Government filings are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Minimum Requirements:

A university degree in business administration, accounting or related field is required with a preference of CPA designation.
Previous supervisory experience is an asset.
Minimum of three to five years' experience in accounting.

Ability to develop appropriate budgets and evaluate financial results.
Ability to make sound financial decisions and change accounting procedures as needed.
Ability to notify and report to senior management trends critical to organization's performance.
Ability to interact with coworkers and accountants and act as a liaison between different departments.
Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of applicable software programs.
Continuously maintain current knowledge of all organizational accounting practices through seminars, webinars and professional conferences as needed.
