The Lab Clerk is responsible for providing laboratory support, including data entry, distribution of laboratory reports, customer service, inventory ordering and some financial duties.

Rate of Pay:
$23.54 per hour - $25.24 per hour

Hours of Work 37.5 Hours per Week

Qualifications:

Successful completion of a one (1) year certificate in Health Care Office Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, Medical Office Practices or as Acceptable to Hospital
One (1) year experience in a Health Care Environment
Knowledge of Cerner laboratory Information System (Pathnet)
Knowledge of and completion of a Medical Terminology course preferred
Proficiency in computer and keyboarding skills, i.e., Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other database systems
Demonstrated proficient communication skills (both written and verbal)
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
Demonstrated ability to multitask
Effective organizational skills involving time management, prioritization and the ability to problem solve while ensuring attention to detail
Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
Demonstrated ability to work well and independently with minimum supervision in a team environment
Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Mission, Vision and Values
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
