***: The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the execution of restaurant operations, as well as maintaining and creating high quality guest service standards. This individual should be leading by example and coaching their team. They must have a hands-on approach to the management role and provide a high level of oversight, technical proficiency and operational/personnel support to ensure the smooth execution of day to day operations and scheduled events.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Other duties may be assigned as required)

  • Lead the delivery of an unforgettable Michelin culinary experience for guests
  • Provide leadership, development, and motivation to the team to ensure guest experience is always maintained through consistent delivery of highquality food and beverages
  • Oversee all daytoday operations to ensure proper coordination and execution between all departments
  • Ensure all fixed assets are in good working condition, oversee preventative maintenance of assets
  • Develop and maintain food quality control, profit and loss controls, inventory levels, and labour and product cost monitoring
  • Accountable for the development of sales budgets and responsible for the successful execution of these budgets
  • Responsible for generating growth and restaurant sales and transactions (guest counts and reviews)
  • Ensure that requirements for appropriate sanitation and food safety levels in respective areas are met
  • Identify root causes of gaps in guest satisfaction and reviews. Assists in the development of corrective and proactive action plans where appropriate
  • Oversee the development of short and long term financial and operational plans

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Is an inspiring leader who has a proven track record to achieve the highest standards in guest service on a daily basis.
  • Someone who elevates their staff around them and coaches them
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in food and beverage industry with 5 years of experience in a senior management role in a fine dining restaurant or in a similar environment
  • Proven record of effective conflict resolution and guest service
  • Understanding of P&L statements
  • Have the acute financial management skills to troubleshoot issues
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage in a diverse environment with a focus on guest service always
  • Excellent professional presentation
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (i.e., mobility, standing, walking, lifting for the majority of the day)
  • Have flexibility to work evenings, weekends
  • Be comfortable with Squirrel POS, excel & word
  • Serving It Right License
  • Food Safe Certificate
  • Wine knowledge and certification (ex. WSET, CMS, CAPS, ISG) is a HUGE asset
