The Hamilton Club's fine bones date from 1873, always at the same location at the very heart of the city, in Hamilton, Ontario.

Newly reimagined lounges, dining rooms, and sports bar satisfy the interests and demands of our diverse and discerning membership. Our roof top patio, The Terrace is the best al fresco dining experience in the city. Our staff is what truly makes The Hamilton Club a premier private club. All our staff provide exemplary service for our members and their guest.

The Clubhouse is an approximate 50,000 square foot, three-storey building that has been maintained in excellent condition.

The facilities include two lounges, a rooftop Terrace, a formal _à la carte_ dining room, multiple private dining/ meeting rooms seating from two to sixty persons, a billiard room, and a fully-stocked wine cellar.

The Club's rooms are richly decorated and furnished and house an outstanding collection of paintings, sculptures, and prints.


The Club offers its members a programme of special events throughout the year, from exclusive wine dinners, casual tastings, book series, an annual golf tournament, holiday brunches and many more throughout.


A unique opportunity exists for applicants with a successful track-record of leadership and high-quality food and beverage service management in private clubs and/or high-end establishments in the hospitality industry.

Reporting to the General Manager/COO, the Food & Beverage Manager/Events Coordinator will oversee all daily food and beverage service operations at the Club.


The successful applicant will be an integral part of a high-performing team at one of the most highly regarded city clubs in Canada.

The Hamilton Club is searching for a strong, passionate leader with excellent team building capabilities, elevated food and beverage service proficiency, with experience building and leading a strong team and a provider of unsurpassed levels of service excellence.


Highlights of the Role:


  • Reports to and assists the General Manager/COO in all operational and functional areas of front of house food and beverage operations.
  • Utilizing an extensive knowledge of food, wine and beverage service ensures that The Hamilton Club members and their guests will enjoy outstanding food and beverage operations by constantly providing exemplary service.
  • Directly overseeing and hiring the food and beverage service staff, you will provide quality, professional leadership, training and contribute to the positive atmosphere of the Club.
  • With strong organizational and time management skills, you will book, organize, and execute all event bookings with elevated levels of quality, satisfaction and outstanding member and guest experiences.
  • Constantly demonstrating a fundamental understanding of what constitutes a premier Club experience, and continually executes to that level.
  • Seeking out new and innovative events and opportunities to continually impress the members and their guests. You will display strategic thinking, excellence, passion, and forethought.
  • Working as a frontline leader you will keep the General Manager/COO and Executive Chef informed of all remarkable events, problem areas, achievements, or other matters of importance.
  • Striving for "better each day", you will plan and coordinate training and professional development programs for yourself and front of house staff.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations.
  • Six plus years of leadership and management experience in a highend Club, hotel, or restaurant.
  • A high degree of motivation to be a passionate professional who enjoys member engagement and making each moment special and memorable for members and their guests.
  • A willingness to continue learning, and train those around them.
  • A real understanding of what a team can do when working together rather than as individuals.
  • Is confident in his or her abilities yet humble in his or her interactions.
  • Skills in leadership, communication, organization, customer service, menu planning, inventory management, cost control, problemsolving and knowledge of food and beverage industry regulations and trends.
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant software and POS). Understanding of Jonas POS is preferred.
  • Strong verbal, interactive and writing skills.
  • A high level of integrity and ability to be extremely responsible with confidentiality and excellent ability to maintain discretion.
  • Smart Serve Certified
