igility, a subsidiary of Health Association Nova Scotia (HANS) is an exclusive distributor of Guldmann Care-Lift Solutions primarily servicing the continuing care and acute care sector across Nova Scotia.


We are currently looking to expand our team with a new full-time position of Installation and Maintenance Technician to help support the growth of our Safe Patient Handling business line.


Our main office is inBedford, however due to frequent travel from this position, primary residence within Halifax is not necessary.

This position does entail a lot of travel primarily throughout Nova Scotia, including overnight stays for period lengths in time, it is important to note that this position will also consists of strenuous labour and can be physically demanding.

Thorough experience of power tools, measurements and ladder safety is required.


Training for this position will be provided, however previous experience installing safe patient handling lifts will be considered a strong asset.


Position Scope:


  • Installation of overhead patient lift systems following the Guldmann installation guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Perform site assessments to assist with generating quotes and planning install projects.
  • Provide lift load testing, preventative maintenance, and repair services at health care facilities.
  • Work closely with internal sales and administrative personnel.
  • Liaise with Project Coordinator/ Manager(s) to advise of daily site progress and work though any issues encountered.
  • Perform sling inspections at facilities.
  • Ship, receive and manage parts inventory.
  • Other building maintenancerelated duties will be required as needed at the igility/HANS main office.

Qualifications:


  • 5+ years of experience in construction or other building trades.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Experience with exposure to different structure types (concrete, steel, wood, etc.).
  • Knowledge and experience in construction, building and hardware installations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and room layouts.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to assemble hardware components.
  • Must be willing and able to travel throughout Nova Scotia and work overnight at times.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license and supply a clean drivers abstract.
  • Experience to Patient Lift systems in healthcare facilities would be an asset.
