Nature and Scope
Our Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the transportation department for 2 sites. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Fleet Manager is responsible for implementing policies and procedures to ensure safety. They also ensure vehicles are maintained and serviced accordingly, to keep up with the highest safety standards. Additionally, the Fleet Manager manages the budget and acquisitions, and prepares reports for senior management.


Role Responsibilities:


  • Planning and managing logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services
  • Directing, optimizing, and coordinating full order cycle
  • Liaising and negotiating with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers
  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services

  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers
  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
  • Arrange warehouse, catalog goods, plan routes and process shipments
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints
  • Supervise, coach and train workforce that is predominantly Drivers and Driver Helpers
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets using POR and telematics.
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Working with vendors for rentals and buying new trucks an asset
  • Reviewing Drivers Abstracts and working with the drivers to meet CMM and customers expectations.
  • Working with Insurance company to add new drivers or remove
  • Knowledge of CVOR
  • Organize and monitor the distribution of goods to ensure items are sent
  • Ensure compliance is met for the fleet to meet all regulations

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years in a similar management role
  • Distribution/ Warehouse industry experience
