Position Summary


Reporting to the Manager, Regional Operations, the casual Administrative Assistant will provide support to regional learners, staff, and the general public; and assist to promote Bow Valley College regional services and programs.


Position responsibilities and accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Books and proctors exams along with processing payments using Moneris machine system, following payment processes.
  • Represents Bow Valley College at community events, including high school recruitment fairs and trade shows.
  • Advises prospective learners on regional programming.
  • Maintains information about programs and services and keeps bulletin boards, communication manuals, and information displays up to date and relevant.
  • Tracks prospective student inquires for programming and services.
  • Orders various supplies and submits service requests for maintenance of equipment according to operation procedures.
  • Takes meeting notes and compiles, when applicable.
  • Maintains organization in regional campus spaces and sets up classroom spaces to accommodate
  • Assists with the maintenance of administrative files and records, according to records management guidelines.
  • Provides backup coverage for Regional Campus Administrator when required.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:


  • Certificate in Office Administration or equivalent credential
  • 2 years' experience in customer service and/or administrative capacity
  • An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered
  • Police information check will be required
  • Ability to travel preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting office and/or educational technology
  • Experience working within a postsecondary institution
  • Ability to provide excellent client service
  • If your education was received internationally we will require you provide an international education assessment through IQAS, WES, or one of the other nationally designated organizations upon hire
