Foresight Strategist. This role is based in our
Oakville (2) location, and reports to the Manager of
Customer Insight and Ideation.

Job Summary

You will regularly collaborate with teammates from Innovation, R&D, Product Management and Marketing, as well as cross-functional teammates engaged in innovation across the organization.

Principal Responsibilities

Design and conduct scenarios projects that take an indepth look at selected topics
Design and lead workshops that use Strategic Foresight methods to help teammates to build, pressure test and evolve new product ideas, visions, and strategies
Socialize Strategic Foresight basics with colleagues in your department and others, teaching them about the domain, how it can benefit them and how to use basic foresight tools
Conduct ongoing scanning to identify new trends, monitor how known trends are evolving; annual update of our trend cards deck; help us to use these trends to inspire and inform decisionmaking
Collaborate with manager to identify ideal projects for Strategic Foresight and additional ways that Strategic Foresight can benefit our business (we have some ideas already but want to hear yours too)
We anticipate up to 15% travel for this position, primarily for inperson workshops or meetings that are either off site or at/close to another IPEX office or plant in North America.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience

Masterlevel degree in business, a social science, strategic foresight, or other relevant discipline (tell us how it applies in your resume or cover letter)
Either university education in Strategic Foresight or significant amount of adult learning in Strategic Foresight with a recognized institution; certification in Strategic Foresight preferred
35 years of experience practicing Strategic Foresight in an industry setting as a primary job function
Strong experience conducting a scenarios project from starttofinish, creating a trend cards deck and using trend cards
Experience designing and leading inperson and remote workshops (using MURAL, or similar)
Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills; storytelling ability
Working knowledge of MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel
Nice to haves (let us know if you have them): French language skills, Stage-Gate (or other product development process) knowledge, experience in B2B, experience with companies making physical products
