As part of the ONxpress consortium, Alstom is proudly working to transform the collective mobility of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project, and we are hiring for hundreds of roles.


The GO Expansion scope :

new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.


Purpose

  • Manage Site activites and reports to Installation Manager.
  • Coordinate and execute Installation activities in support of one or several Projects, in close cooperation with the Installation Team within the Signaling Installation scope.
  • Ensure delivery and quality of the documentation in compliance with signaling strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard/Carborne Site Installation Management
  • Manage and Plan Onboard/Carborne engineering studies (Bill of Installation Materials / Quantities, Method Statements, Installation Materials Specification Requirements, Installation drawings and configuration),
  • Manage and Review concept of ONB Installation Design, Perform Train Survey for Installation Design, Review Install Requirements, Design Review on Concept of Install Design, Issue Installation Baseline, Create Install Bill of Quantity. Perform Electrical Scheme review and review Markup drawings.
  • Plans day to day Onboard/Carborne Installation activities as per Alstom schdule.
  • Create & reviews and signs off all installation PICO and Installation Method statement, drawings, and manages ONB Installation drawings/site copies of drawing with Red & Yellow / Markups, reviews, and analyses subcontractor daily/weekly installation report. Manage of Punch list and regular followups to close them. Ensures that "as built" drawings are in place before revenue service, including "as installed" configuration.
  • Create & Reviews of Installation BOQ and updates as per project requirements. Supervising first article inspections and getting approvals from end user. Generates Traceability to installation requirements.
  • Decides start of work as per 4M Checklist for starting Installation Engineering activities for Onboard/Carborne.
  • Attention to detail to understand mechanical and electrical drawings for Onboard
  • Familiarity of both mechanical and electrical basic tools for testing and verification tests of installation.
  • Good communication skills and familiarity of working in a unionized environment.
  • Able to work in the office and field under seasonal environmental conditions (fit for duty).
  • Able to work under the safety rules outlined by site, company, and industry.
  • Occasional international travel may be required.
  • Lead technical interface meeting with international teams for Initial and final deliveries.
  • Lead local Engineering teams to manage local installation constraints and customer interface.
  • Lead Site survey to collect legacy trains information to build Electrical and Mechanical drawings.
  • Conduct readiness review. Support physical installation
  • Direct, supervise and monitor contractor work.

Educational Requirements

  • Engineer degree level or Diploma with 56 years of equivalent education or experiences
  • Certification in AutoCAD and or other Design tool desired.

Experience

  • 510y experience on railway ONBOARD site management
  • Strong knowledge of Railway ONBOARD products and services knowledge on different market segments
  • 3+ years product experience in Management, design, drafting or engineering
