Recruiter Contact:Sofiya Bula- Mott MacDonald's Urban Planning & Mobility Practice supports our business across Canada with expertise in transportation planning, modelling and policy development, urban development and master planning, structured decision-making and environmental planning & approvals.

Our projects include transportation policy, operations & change management, and infrastructure design.

Our Canadian offices are in Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary.- In addition to both leading and supporting projects in Canada, we support the delivery of projects for Mott MacDonald's clients across the US and globally.

-Duties will include:

Designing modelling approaches for projects and liaising with Mott MacDonald's global resources in modelling and analytics;
Providing transportation modelling and analytical expertise to the design and delivery of transportation infrastructure;
Guiding and mentoring junior staff with an interest in modelling;
Engaging with clients, stakeholders, and partners including government and private sector organizations, in multimodal transportation modelling;
Creating and contributing to deliverables including proposals, reports, and presentations for both technical and nontechnical audiences; and
Undertaking various project management duties such as managing tasks, client engagement, work planning, budget monitoring, and project controls reporting.510 years of previous professional experience that includes significant experience in traffic and multimodal modeling;
Relevant education and qualification in Transportation Engineering, Planning or a related field is essential;
Ability to achieve one or more professional designations, such as
Professional Engineer (P.Eng), or
Registered Professional Planner (RPP).
Competencies in
Traffic modelling using one or more microsimulation tools (PTV VISSIM, Aimsun, SIDRA, etc.);
Intersection operational analysis using Synchro;
Data analysis and visualization;
Data transformation and automation (e.g. scriptingbased analytical tools and statistical analyses using R, Python, SQL, SPSS, etc);
Technical writing. Roadway design, including urban ("downtown") streets;
Bus speed and reliability projects;
Construction management;
Safety and Vision Zero improvements;

Active transportation design.

Strong written and oral communication skills including the communication of complex technical information to nontechnical audiences;
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
Demonstrable background of working both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team; and
A history of achieving milestones and meeting deadlines

Competency in:

Project Management;
Stakeholder engagement;
CADD, including AutoTURN;
Traffic, rail and transit operational modelling approaches;
Pedestrian modelling;
Microsimulation modelling (e.g. Aimsun, VISSIIM, etc.)

Spatial analysis;

An entrepreneurial spirit and inclination toward developing transportation modellingbased opportunities for the business.
