The Supplier Quality ManagementSpecialist plans and directs activities concerned with material qualityplanning, qualification of suppliers and products, supplier performancemonitoring, supplier improvement in close collaboration with Strategic and Operationalprocurement, Engineering and R&D teams within cross-functional teams.

Themain purpose for this role is to identify the supplier-and product relatedrisks preventively, address them in effective and efficient manner to ensureconsistent quality of materials and components for production of Instrumenttransformers.

The SQM Specialist is a gate keeper in all aspects associatedwith material quality and needs to be ready to change the counterpartiesmindset in terms of supplier process and product qualification.


How You'll Make an Impact

  • Lead supplier quality management processes including SupplierQualification, Product & Process Qualification, Supplier Monitoring, andSupplier Improvement for the oilimmersed Instrument transformer productionfacility in Pickering, Ontario.
  • Promote cooperation and alignment with key interfaces (Procurement,Engineering, Research & Development)
  • Definition and execution of quality planning such as vendor and goodsreceipt inspections, assignment of inspection plans to material masters in SAPas well as maintenance of material masters and quality info records in SAP
  • Supplier Qualification: Implement and control the support of thecrossfunctional supplier selection team with required quality data; conductsupplier audit and supplier capability or capacity audit and assessment ofsupplier risk. Develop and implement yearly supplier audit program.

Process Qualification:
lead cross-functional teams to performProduct and Process Qualification (PPQ) according to applicable processdescriptions and standards.

Review supplier's submissions (Process FlowDiagrams, Quality Control Plans, PSW, test reports), negotiate and sign QualityAssurance Agreements with Suppliers, perform First Article Inspections.


  • Supplier Monitoring: planning, implementation, optimization and controllingof the efficiency of the Supplier caused nonconformance management, reportingof Supplier performance KPIs. Ensure transparency and reliability of data.
  • Supplier Improvement: initiate and implement supplier quality improvementprograms, quality root cause analysis and implementation of appropriate riskmitigation measurements at the supplier. Track implementation and effectivenessof measures. Coaching supplier to follow Siemens Energy Quality ManagementProcess and usage related tools.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, IndustrialEngineering, Material Science or a similar discipline. Equivalent combinationof education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in
    supplier qualitymanagement, supply chain, engineering, preferably in automotive, aerospaceor power generation industries.
  • You have experience of performing supplier qualifications, auditing, inspection,managing nonconformities, evaluation, and development of Suppliers andproducts of different commodities including aluminium casting, large steelfabrications, machined parts, insulating materials, conductive materials.
  • Proven planning, organization and time management skills, leadership skillsand intercultural expertise round up your profile.
  • Yor are open minded, results & solution oriented and strong analyticalthinking, with networking and relationship building skills. Advancedcommunication/presentation skills, basic commercial knowledge.
  • You are fluent (writing and speaking) in English, willingness to traveldomestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
