The Role

Our Mitchell Plastics Kitchener facility is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our Team immediately.

The Maintenance Supervisor is a key player in keeping our Maintenance Department running smoothly including the management and direction of all Maintenance Department Team Members, the organization and coordination of work order distribution, facilities and preventative maintenance, and the planning of installations and modifications of production equipment.

This is a great opportunity to dive in as this role is both hands on while also mentoring and leading our exceptional Maintenance Team Cooperation with the Production, Continuous Improvement, Automation, Tooling and Process Teams is essential for this position.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage and direct the Maintenance Department in all facility maintenance including, but not limited to:
  • lighting, plumbing, electrical, fire suppression and perimeter access points
  • Responsible for the planning and installation of production equipment and modification of manufacturing machinery
  • Develop effective preventative maintenance program finding the most optimal point of preventative and continued production
  • Initiate Continuous Improvement activity
  • Identify hazards and ensure the prompt repair of any unsafe conditions
  • Plan, organize and direct services such as, maintenance, safety inspections, building security and snow
- removal

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction projects to modify facilities
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance and repair of real estate infrastructures including machinery, equipment, electrical and mechanical systems via internal resources or contractor services
  • Hire and oversee training and supervision of staff
  • Any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager or other Senior Management.
Qualifications and Skills

  • Certified Industrial Millwright 433A Tradesperson, dual ticketed with Industrial Electrician 442A preferred
  • Minimum 3 years maintenance manufacturing experience production floor & facilities work (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, equipment relocation, facility installs/upgrades & troubleshooting)
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
- experience with hand and power tools
- ability to read, write & communicate in English
- excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
- self-driven & able to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Understanding of machine guarding and other safety requirements.
