Description

This hybrid role will give you the unique opportunity to provide support to the site superintendent in the daily operations of multi-family construction projects, while also coordinating the scheduling, repairing, and replacing of warranty items and maintaining company equipment and supplies.

What will you do?

Quality control of building construction.
Follow through building code and corporate safety requirements on all sites.

Maintain construction sites cleanliness and safety from garbage and debris, snow removal, sweeping and pressure washing, and ensuring that access into and out of home sites are safe and clean (includes stairs, ramps, guardrails, sidewalks, and driveways).

Perform deficiency repairs such as framing repairs, minor taping and paint repairs, install locks and miscellaneous hardware (i.e., signage on houses), cabinet and flooring touch ups, window install (includes basement), door adjustment, stairs and handrail installation, flooring repairs.

Install and maintain temporary walkways, stairs, ramps, and handrails to ensure the safety of construction sites.
Complete Weekly Hazard assessments and report any safety issues immediately to the Site Superintendent and Safety Supervisor.
Assist Site Superintendent with quality controls checks on framing, insulation, foundation, and pre-occupancy per company's standard.

Attend one month and one-year warranty appointments (trade days) to facilitate minor home repair work that falls outside the scope of trades.

Coordinate and ensure trade repairs are completed according to Rohit standards and specifications.
Conduct pre-occupancy inspections and possession day walk-throughs as per Rohit processes.
Conduct scheduled inspections with Rohit homeowners (i.e., one month and one-year walk throughs) when required.
Schedule any return trips needed by trades during normal business hours at the customer's convenience.

Reschedule appointments if trade fails to show up at times convenient for the customer (can be outside of regular business hours).

Follow up with trades and homeowners to ensure all work is complete on time.
Follow up on any outstanding work orders and close/authorize payments as work is completed and accepted by customers.
Create work orders when required.
Record all work completed and create a process for recording any outstanding items.
Discuss re-occurring warranty issues with management.
Expediently report high risk problems to management.
Attend regular training sessions with construction team on chronic problems or costly warranty areas.
Ensure all appropriate safe work practices, policies, and documentation are being adhered to.
Be an ambassador of an exceptional customer experience.
Emergency call rotation - answer emergency calls outside of business hours as per the scheduled rotation.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

What do we look for?

3-5 years' experience in residential construction or renovations.
Expertise in multiple trades' functions such as carpentry, drywall, and painting.
Skilled at using various tools and equipment that mirrors those trade functions.
Intermediate computer skills where you can maintain and update the warranty tracking system.
Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
High level organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Capable of working well with homeowners, management, co-workers, trade partners and suppliers.
A knack for working well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Detail-oriented.
Self-directed and self-motivated.
