Position Summary

Location:
Mississauga, Ontario

Schedule:
Monday to Friday. 40 hours. Afterhours when req.

What you will do

Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide optimal response time to frontend users
Manage the execution and completion of backend jobs and services on production servers
Manage the replication of data from source databases to replicated destinations to ensure data availability for business reporting
Work closely with the Infrastructure Team to ensure database backup completion
Troubleshoot database errors and perform root cause analysis to determine the cause of issues and either fix or provide recommendations toward solutions
Monitor and document security and compliance threats that may affect the production databases, such as unauthorized access, data loss, and longrunning queries
Support the Infrastructure team in server patch update and projects as required
Produce reports on database usage, volume growth, and query execution time
When assigned, provide support to the development team in database design, query optimization, and production deployment.

What You'll Bring

Bachelor's degree

Along with the following Skills & Competencies:

Azure Data Warehouse and SQL as Managed Service
BizTalk SSIS
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problemsolving skills
Good communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)
Handson experience with database administration, data manipulation languages, and core principles of database design
MS-SQL
Power BI, SSRS
Project Management skills
QL Server databases, preferably in Quest Spotlight
SQL Server database backup, recovery, log shipping, and transactional replication
