    AltaGas - Senior Analyst, Commercial Planning & Execution

    Commercial Planning & Execution (CP&E) is responsible for ensuring the resiliency, optimization, and enhancement of all aspects of the LPG Export & Domestic LPG Marketing business via detailed modeling, in-depth analysis, and creative problem-solving. As an integral part of the Commercial Team, CP&E works closely with the Supply, Marketing, Hedging, Exports, Logistics, Finance, and Commercial Development Teams to coordinate commercial functions and align business objectives based on our analysis to achieve and exceed performance targets for the business.

    Reporting to the Director, CP&E, and collaborating closely with the Specialist, CP&E, the Senior Analyst will be handling model maintenance, development/enhancement, business tool creation/extension, and helping to drive decision-making by applying mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, and optimization techniques to solve complex problems.

    You Will:

    • Maintain and manage the commercial planning model on a daily basis
    • Develop optimization and planning tools for the current commercial model to integrate short and long-term planning and forecast
    • Work closely with Supply, Offtake, and Logistics teams to aggregate various data sets for planning commercial operations
    • Provide support for weekly, monthly, and annual planning processes and reporting inclusive of budget
    • Develop and maintain dashboards focused on key commercial and financial performance indicators to allow informed decisions across ALA value chain
    • Support Supply, Offtake and Logistics with Commercial insights of the storage and loading agreements
    • Support and maintain business processes and systems to ensure proper administration, including timely and accurate information to finance or other stakeholders
    • Identify and lead projects to improve the quality and timeliness of information through process improvement and leveraging technology
    • Maintain a strong understanding of current news and events that affect natural gas liquids, natural gas, and crude oil markets and their potential impacts on AltaGas' business
    • Promote and enhance the culture of optimization and change management between AltaGas' Commercial teams

    You Have:

    • Post-Secondary Degree in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field; additional education in Operations Research or Portfolio Optimization would be considered an asset
    • Expert user in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and programs such as Monte Carlo, Evolver, Linear Programming, etc.
    • Knowledge and familiarity with mathematical and statistical-based analysis methods, experience implementing this method in a business setting would be considered an asset
    • Previous experience or knowledge in the Oil & Gas industry (specifically LPGs) is not required but would be considered an asset
    • A desire to develop creative solutions and learn about a growing industry in a constantly changing environment
    • Action-oriented and performance driven
    • Structured and organized with exceptional analytical skills
    • Motivated individual able to contribute both individually and as a team player with multiple priorities and tasks
