Description

The Field Service Technician is accountable for performing technical inspections, repairs, services, upgrades, supports and installations of NOI's medical systems for our customers.

Frequently travels to customer sites to support business and customer needs. Supports strong team environment through positive approach, to provide solutions helping and mentoring those less experienced. Always conducts themselves in a professional manner presenting a positive image of NOI and themselves.


The successful applicant will:


  • Perform Electromechanical and optical equipment repair, including diagnostics, testing and calibration
  • Technical inspection (QC) and modification of new medical equipment to meet CSA standards
  • Support customer inquiries electronically or over the phone
  • Responsible for performing onsite installation, servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of equipment
  • Provide basic customer training for proper care and maintenance of system to ensure optimal performance and minimize down time
  • Responsible to organize travel to and from customer sites
  • Ensure service reports are sent to customers and followup with customer via best means of contact are completed within 48 hours of service work.
  • Responsible for tracking and accurately processing service parts and timely returns of defectives
  • Complete accurate reports of all service calls and or activities utilizing company software systems within 24 hours
  • Develop technical reports, documentation, SOPs, and gather technical statistical information where needed
  • Lead effective implementation of technical updates and/or upgrades on equipment
  • Support new product launches including but limited to training, tools, documentation, recommended stock levels, setup in company software system, technical assessment and service support plan
  • Electronic Technician/Technologist diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 5 years in related service industry or Lab environment
  • Laser experience is a definite asset
  • Good problem solving, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to read schematics, troubleshoot and use electronic test equipment
  • Solid understanding of optical and laser fundamentals
  • Ability to operate under pressure of deadlines
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills ability to build excellent working relationships with internal and external customers
