Penticton and District Society for Community Living (PDSCL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting people with diverse abilities in Penticton and surrounding communities.

We provide support and services for people with intellectual disabilities, seniors, low-income adults, families, and persons facing homelessness.

PDSCL is looking for a temporary full-time residence worker.

This position is for 40 hours per week with a shift pattern of Sat & Sun, 7 am - 3 pm, Mon-Wed, 2 pm - 10 pm.

The Residence Worker assists clients to live successfully a group home setting. Ensures that clients' physical, emotional, social, educational, medical needs are met. Assists clients to enhance quality of life with activities of daily living and the development of life skills.


Qualifications:

  • Certificate in a related human/social service field
  • One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Other Qualifications and Abilities:


Planning and organizng, interpersonal skills, communication skills, analyzing and judgment ability, physical capabilities, initiative/independence, honesty, work standards, team orientation, stress tolerance, acceptance of working conditions.


Other Employment Requirements:

  • Valid CPR/First Aid
  • Satisfactory criminal record checkworking with vulnerable adults and children
  • ValidClass 4 unrestricted license
  • Foodsafe Certificate
  • TB Skin Test
  • Medical clearance
  • Code of ethics andconfidentiality form.
  • Adherence to current Provincial Health Office Order

Salary:
From $25.91 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Evening shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Penticton, BC V2A 1W9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
