Job Description:


This role will spearhead the launch and ongoing promotion of Unica's product and service propositions across its Broker Partner network.

The individual will be expected to communicate the broad aspects of each product and service, assisting brokers to develop profitable revenue-generating initiatives.

The prospecting and appointing of target brokers will also be a key responsibility as will broker management, sales and marketing, training, profitability, and planning.


Responsibilities:


  • Prospect and appoint target Brokers that meet Unica's predetermined criteria. Focus will be placed on the broker that is capable of understanding and fulfilling our Commercial Insurance proposition
  • Measure, analyze and evaluate proposition effectiveness and Broker performance, recommending improvements wherever necessary
  • Develop individual annual business plans with brokers that include GWP, retention, and loss ratio objectives
  • Monitor results against plan, visit brokerages and review brokerages on a regular basis while also recommending corrective measures when/as needed
  • Tracks market intelligence such as market conditions, competitors' activity (products, services, CPC, promotional materials, automation), and rate reviews
  • Collaboration with all other departmental Teams on broker interaction and feedback to assist the development of the territory that proactively support the promotion of Unica's proposition
  • Assist in providing training in brokers' offices concerning all Unica products and underwriting guideline criteria
  • Contributes to Unica's overall profitability by soliciting profitable growth initiatives in targeted classes of customer and business
  • Assists brokers in targeting and soliciting new Commercial risks and revenuegenerating opportunities, that align with Unica's appetite and conform to guidelines
  • Supports the development of the annual business development plan through the building of a territorial business plan, brokerbybroker and actively participating in planning and forecasting for current and future business development
  • Staying abreast of industry issues through courses, seminars, and industry journals and attending related events as required

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a solid understanding of both personal and commercial lines insurance business in a customerfocused environment
  • Target driven professional with excellent organizational, time management, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a strong aptitude to influence others, coupled with sound problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities
  • Strong ability to compile and analyze data, prepare reports, and make recommendations based on findings
  • Computer literacy with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in the property and casualty insurance industry
  • CIP/FCIP or working towards one of these designations is an asset
