The opportunity:


Working under the Health and Community Services Director and team, the Social Development and Membership Coordinator acts on behalf of Pauquachin First Nation to manage the intake of new income assistance clients utilizing the policy and procedures for the income assistance program as per Indigenous Services Canada (ISC).

Additionally, they will manage the membership list and coordinate all membership services for Pauquachin First Nation acting as our Indigenous Registry Administrator.

The role requires empathy, problem solving, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Indigenous history, culture, language, and traditions is an asset.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provides excellent service and respect while processing Income Assistance Applications
  • Maintain an up to date, confidential file on each applicant to include all required documentation.
  • Refer employable applicants to resources for enhancing employability and securing employment.
  • Other related duties as required

  • Work collaboratively with the health services team
  • Create a personal wellness plan
  • Be a positive role model
  • Write and submit funding proposals and reports

What we require from you:


  • Valid class 5 Drivers License
  • 2yr Diploma in Social Services and Work Experience
  • First Nation Social Development Level 1 and 2 training an asset
  • Band Social Development Worker Level 1 an asset
  • Satisfactory completion of a vulnerable sector criminal record check
  • Relevant work experience and/or a combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of Membership and Indian Registry an asset
