Job Brief


Responsibilities:


  • Develop Permitting Roadmaps for new and existing projects within Clean Fuels
  • Independently develop and maintain relationships with permitting agencies
  • Communicate permit status to internal and external parties
  • Ensure that the company's capital project permits are properly acquired, recorded, maintained and organized within appropriate systems
  • Monitor, track and implement permit requirements and timelines to effectively meet project goals
  • Conduct field visits as necessary to secure permits
  • Develop and prepare reports as required and/or requested
  • Provide guidance on local, provincial, and federal environmental requirements (e.g., regulation, policy, guidelines, standards)
  • Coordinate and integrate information from multidisciplinary technical teams
  • Review materials for adequacy with respect to regulatory submissions related to permitting
  • Develop and maintain compliance register
  • Negotiate with local, provincial, and federal permitting agencies to secure approval for all capital projects

Requirements:


  • Undergraduate degree or higher in an appropriate field of study (Engineering or Environmental Science)
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience supporting permitting and regulatory compliance of large capital projects
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience developing relationships with governmental officials, community members or customers in either a regulated environment or governmental entity required
  • Experience with multidisciplinary projects, baseline characterization, environmental impact assessment, permitting processes, and monitoring and annual reporting
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision
  • Possess sound analytical, problemsolving and documentation skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access)
  • Diplomatic, relationship builder with strong professional presence and demonstrated ability to influence others
  • Experience in managing complex permitting projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors and individuals inside and outside the company with a high degree of professionalism and knowledge
Other Assets/Skills

  • Experience engaging and working with Indigenous communities and stakeholders
  • Familiarity permitting hydrogen projects or experience with BC Energy Regulator considered an asset
  • Valid driver's license
