SU-0- Full-time opportunities. 37.5 or 40 hours a week depending on the position.
Employment dates range from May 2024 to early September 2024 (possible part-time employment from September 2024 to October You must be available to work throughout all the summer season to be selected for a student position.

Salary to be determined at the time of the hire and is based on the current academic level of the student.

Please note that the Northern New Brunswick Field Unit uses its own pay grid.

Persons are eligible for student employment with Parks Canada provided they are:

  • Registered as a full time or part-time secondary or post secondary student in an accredited academic program; or
  • Participating in adult education and retraining programs at the secondary level, operated under the authority of an accredited academic institution, and;
  • Meet the minimum age requirement to work in the province or territory where the job is located as well as to any specific age student program requirements. 16 yearsold at the time of hire, this is the minimum age to work in Nova Scotia;

Students will be required to cover all travel expenses to and from the location of work.


Duties:

Visitor Information Centre/ Entrance Kiosk/Assistant Interpreter


Welcome visitors in person or over the phone and give them information, directions regarding facilities, services, programs, events and regulations.

Record, process and collect fees, and make reimbursements.

Work with a cash register, compile and record statistical data, fill out forms, sales reports and bank deposits, and use a computer system or point of sale and booking system.

Support in the coordination and delivery of events and activities. Assist interpreters in preparing and delivering various interpretation programs. Cleans and maintains Parks Canada Agency buildings/facilities.
Also may be requested to complete other related duties.

Training will be provided as required.
