Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Chief of Corporate Services and Finance, this position provides confidential support to the work of CCMB Executives


The major functions are:

to provide executive administrative support, analytical, organizational and communications support to CancerCare Manitoba priority activities within the Corporate Services portfolio.

This includes calendar management, receiving and triaging incoming communications, follow up on departmental reports, briefings, maintenance of statistical information for internal and external purposes, research and provision of analytical support related to ongoing projects.

Other requirements include drafting reports and communications, anticipating and resolving scheduling conflicts and adherence to deadlines. Administrative and coordination support to the CCMB Board of Directors and their committees will be assigned.


Supervision of support staff may be required, which includes providing direction to junior staff (permanent, temporary or casual) within the portfolio, including workload delegation, on-the-job training, monitoring of workload, ensuring deadlines are met and procedures are followed.

Conducts or contributes to the performance appraisal of junior employees by providing feedback to the executive and appropriate Directors.


Qualifications:


  • Required:_
  • Successful completion of a recognized administrative training program or the equivalent in education and experience
  • Five years' directly related experience supporting an intermediate/senior level leader
  • Three years supervisory/leadership experience
  • Ability to work independently interfacing with highly skilled professionals in a team environment and provide leadership in work activities
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, assign and supervise the work of junior employees
  • Typing speed of 65 wpm
  • Proficiency with computerized system (

Microsoft Office:
Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing, required
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated problemsolving skills
  • Good physical and mental health

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
